Dear Mushtaq,
What a fascinating subject! I wonder if there have been any studies done comparing individuals to each other. In other words, comparing, for example, heart rhythms of people who get along well with each other and those who do not to see how these unique patterns either match or oppose one another in some way..... I also find the unique qualities of the human voice to be extremely interesting. From a few seconds of talking on the phone with a person one has never met or seen before, a myriad of impressions are formed about that person. And these are irregardless of the topic of conversation- completely based on the qualities of the voice. (At least for me, this is the case, although the conversation leaves its own impressions, for sure....) S

For me the value in this is the reminder that I am indeed part of the universe- the universe that includes right-wing extremists, rapists, killers, artists, athletes and saints. When I find myself feeling better than or above those I have deemed a "bad" part of the finger print, I remember that my own whorls are connected to theirs and am humbled. And of course, vice versa.

Dear Mushtaq,
Another thought occured to me as I read the title of Mr. Leonard's book. While I have not read his book yet, its title, "The Silent Pulse- A Search for the Perfect Rhythm that Exists in Each of Us", seems to carry with it some very Sufi-like undertones. A person's pulse is nowhere near silent, nor is it perfect, nor do we have to search very far to find it. The "Silent Pulse" and the "Perfect Rhythm", must therefor be more elusive, but yet not out of reach for the sincere seeker. Perhaps the "The Universe" Mr. Leonard speaks of is none other than "Hu"...... S
