Keith Olbermann transcends Himself

And Speaks As An American Should

Mostly I find Olbermann amusing, but today I found him profound. As we see the Right bring America closer and closer to a fascist dictatorship, as we see those of us who have differing opinions marginalized, called traitors, and attacked at every turn, it is refreshing to see someone in the media stand up for what made this country great.

I found this clip at Crooks and liars, go take a listen, think about what he is saying with a little objectivity. If you have to, pretend that he is saying this about someone you don't support so that you can discover if there is any truth in what he says.

I will leave you with two quotes from the last real Republican President to think about.

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.‚"
